Code of Conduct

Last updated March 5, 2024

Noom Vibe is intended to be a space connecting users, experts, and would-be friends for exchanges of ideas, experience, and knowledge.  Below are a few Rules that we ask all of our community members to follow, to help make Noom Vibe an environment for respectful, inclusive, positive, and productive interactions and discussions. These Rules are in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which apply to all users of our Services.

Rules

When you use Noom Vibe, you agree to abide by the following Rules at all times. Violating these Rules can result in your removal from the Service. You also agree not to encourage others to violate these Rules. Encouraging others to violate Noom Vibe’s Rules can also result in removal from the Service.

  • You must use your real name or identity on Noom Vibe.

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to use Noom Vibe (or older if required by your country).

  • You may not engage in abuse, bullying, or harassment of any person or groups of people.

  • You may not use profanity or other offensive words in your username or talk titles. You may use profanity in conversation so long as you are not violating another policy.

  • You may not share, threaten to share, or incentivize the sharing of other people's private information without their prior permission.

  • You may not go Live and then merely play a recording. This will lead to an instant ban. Members on Noom Vibe expect your presence when you are Live. Similarly, you may not simply play music while not talking.

We depend on the community to report violations of Rules. If you believe a user has violated a Rule, you can report by following the instructions below. Note: Inappropriate use of the incident reporting system or intentional, false reports are against our Rules and are taken seriously.

Live Talks

At the present time, only Top Coaches have the privilege of doing live talks on Noom Vibe. Live Talks on Noom Vibe should reflect the following guidelines.

  • Live. You may not go Live and then merely play a recording. This will lead to an instant ban and revocation of Top Coach badge.

  • Be Present. Members expect your presence when you are Live.

  • Original & Interactive. The content is expected to engage the audience and involve your live speech. The best Top Coaches will encourage people to join as a guest. It is not acceptable to simulcast in a way that would not allow Noom Vibe guests to join.

  • Have Substance. Noom Vibe is a place for meaningful connections, we respectfully ask that you refrain from trolling or rambling on your live talks.

  • Profanity. We are all adults on Noom Vibe, and we understand that sometimes a dash of profanity may be involved. However, we do ask that you refrain from extreme use of vulgar language or persistent explicit content that is not necessary in the communication of the information.

These are the things we like to see on Noom Vibe:

  • Add Value and be Productive. Noom Vibe is about adding value to the lives of other people. Please have a focus on sharing knowledge, advice, conversation with meaning to others.

  • Think of the Audience. Is what you are talking about helpful to others? This can be interpreted broadly, but in the end, you should ask yourself, “Am I giving the kind of talk I’d like to hear?”

  • Be Inclusive and Supportive. The Noom Vibe community prides itself on providing support and kindness to others. It’s not a place for trolling and being disingenuous, bigoted, attacking, or slanderous.

Tools For Users

If someone has not violated any of the Rules, but you would still prefer not to interact with them, these are some tools you can use:

Speakers can:

  • Accept or reject speakers: If you are a Top Coach, you decide who can speak in your talks. You can invite listeners to speak, and you can decline a listener’s requests to speak.

  • Remove speakers: Top Coaches can also remove any speaker from their talk at any time.

Anyone can:

  • Unfollow: You can unfollow a Top Coach or any other user at any time. To do so, navigate to the user’s profile and tap on the button that says “Following” to unselect it. They won’t be notified, and you won’t receive any further notifications about their activity.

  • Block: You can also block a user at any time. On their profile, click on the 3 horizontal dots and select “Block.” Please note that Block is designed to prevent voice interactions. If you are a Top Coach, blocked users may not join you as a guest. You may still see blocked users in the same talks, but you will not be able to interact.

Incident Reporting

You can report an incident in 2 ways:

  • Report a profile: Tap on the user you want to report, then tap to report them.

  • Report a talk: Tap on the report option inside a talk to request a review of the speakers for Rules violations.

Here’s what you should know about reporting another user for a Rules violation:

  • If you submit a report, we will not share your identity with the person you reported unless we are legally required to do so.

  • All reports that are submitted will be reviewed and investigated. The need for and type of corrective or disciplinary action needed will be determined on a case by case basis.

  • We seek to be fair, consistent, and responsive in addressing all reported incidents.

  • If the violation directly targeted you, we may share certain information about the process and resolution with you (e.g., the stage of investigation, any concerns that you may be at risk for immediate harm, information on how the resolution could impact you).

  • Intentional, false reports of violations are treated as a violation of the Rules and will lead to account removal.

If another user has reported you for violating a Rule, here’s what you should know:

  • If a report has been filed against you, we may contact you through your Noom Vibe account with information about the nature of the report. We may keep some details private in order to protect the reporting user(s). If we are unable to reach you, we may restrict your account access temporarily until we are able to do so.

  • We will notify you of the result of the investigation and its potential impact to you.

  • If you believe a report has been falsely filed against you or you would like to appeal a decision, please contact us, including as much context as possible.

  • Any attempt to retaliate against users who participate in reporting or investigation is a Rules violation.

If your account has been suspended, please follow this process for inquiry or appeal:

  • If your account is flagged for a potential violation of our Rules, your account may be temporarily or permanently restricted or removed from the platform.

  • If you believe your account did not violate our Rules, contact our Code of Conduct team at support@noomvibe.com Please include your Noom Vibe username, verified email address, and reference to the original decision notification you received.

  • Please keep the following in mind when submitting an appeal:

    • Once you submit the appeal, the Noom Vibe Team will decide whether or not to review it based on the Rules violation in question. Please note that not all enforcement decisions are eligible for an appeal.

These are a few (non-exhaustive) examples of potential consequences for Rules violations:

  • Provide a warning for a first offense of low severity and impact

  • Request the removal of or directly remove offending content

  • Restrict the ability to participate in some or all talks

  • Temporarily or permanently disable or remove the account

  • Notify law enforcement when there is risk of physical harm or a threat to public safety

Consequences for confirmed violations may vary based on the type and severity of the violation, the impact to victim(s), the historical actions of the offending user, and the intent of the actions. We maintain full discretion over how to respond to violations, if at all.
